| It is with mixed emotions that we must announce that Lisa Joyce has resigned as Executive Director of Pentacle Theatre. We are sad to see her go, and we are full of gratitude for her years of dedication to our theatre.
A long-time Pentacle volunteer, Lisa got her start here after moving to Salem in 1987. In late 2014, Lisa started as (interim) Executive Director, going on to permanently fill the position and lead the organization for over 8 years. In her tenure at Pentacle, Lisa has given a tremendous amount of time, energy, and heart to the theater, helping produce over 50 shows and overseeing the theater through some of its most tumultuous times.
One of Lisa’s many strengths has been her commitment to our development strategy, through which she has built and fostered strong relationships with our sponsors and donors. Among her many accomplishments, she was instrumental in securing grants and other pivotal funding which kept our theater alive throughout the very harsh COVID-19 economic landscape. We sincerely thank her for her leadership during these extremely difficult times. The Board wishes her the best of luck and opportunities in her future endeavors.
While we are all navigating the emotions and logistics that come with this adjustment, the Pentacle Theatre Governing Board wants to assure our community that we are working quickly to ensure a smooth transition. In the coming days and weeks we will determine a long-term transition plan. To address immediate needs, the Board President will assume responsibility of leading the organization and has identified a Leadership Transition Committee which, in collaboration with staff, will ensure the day-to-day operations are properly handled. After all, the show must go on!
