What: A Pentacle Evening of Comedy open auditions for a showcase of monologues and scenes. Directed by Heather Toller, assisted by the ‘What’s Next’ workgroup, and emceed by Tom Hewitt. This will be an in-person, outdoor event and will primarily consist of pieces that participants present during the auditions.
When: The performance will be Aug. 14 (with a possible additional performance on Aug. 15).
In-person auditions on June 29 and June 30, from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. by appointment. We will also accept video auditions. Let us know if none of these options are available to you.
Where: Auditions will be at Pentacle Theater’s auditorium off Highway 22 in West Salem: 324 52nd Ave. NW, Salem, OR 97304.
Casting:
- Audition pieces should be 3 – 5 minutes, lighthearted comedies or dramadies. These can be monologues or scenes with a max. of 2-3 people. This program will not include musical theater selections.
- There will not be a set, there will not be props (unless simple accent pieces are provided by you), and there will not be costumes. Just you!
- The final selections of pieces will be determined by how they fit into the production (length and scope.) If your piece is not selected, we may ask you to do something else!
- Perhaps this is a chance to dust off an old role or look at something you never thought you would get a chance to perform! Get those creative juices flowing.

Please note that proof of full vaccination, along with a signed form, will be required to audition without a mask. We will be following Pentacle’s Covid-19 protocols and will require performers to be fully vaccinated by the time of your first rehearsal.

The rehearsal schedule will be light, we expect two or three times prior to the performance, along with program run-throughs the week of Aug. 9. Please include any conflicts you may have during the month of July through performance time.
Headshots and resumes are not required, but always appreciated.
